The board only accommodates 2 RAM modules which will limit the amount of RAM available to 4GB at this time. This may become a handicap in the future as Vista raises its ugly head. Who was it that said: "640kb ought to be enough..."? The addition of RAID is a welcome bonus for a HTPC setup, especially with all of the new HD content being broadcast. With the new perpendicular encoded drives being released, you should have no worries for the near (and not so near) future. Use a 150gb Raptor as the main OS and 3 750Gb in RAID 5 and you are set with over 2TB of hard disk goodness. |
The CPU socket has enough room for almost any type of cooler that you could want to add. I am using a Silverstone Nitrogon NT03 with no space problems whatsoever. |
The back panel gives you plenty of USB connections, a 1394a port, Gigabit LAN port, PS/2 connectors for legacy keyboards & mice, parallel & serial ports, 15pin VGA connector and an audio panel that will output 8 channel sound. |
