If I had to pick the one piece of computer hardware that evolves the most it would have to be coolers! I used to think graphics cards changed frequently but it seems before I can finish a review ten more variations of coolers are released on the market. I suppose a writer could spend his entire life trying to keep up with the changes. Are they all worthwhile? Worth changing what you already have? Spending that hard-earned coin to upgrade? Well my friend, at GruntvillE we try our best to keep you informed on which ones work and might just be worth breaking out some of that hard-earned cash!

Sharka Computers has been kind enough to send us the new Zalman 120mm entry to the market. The CNPS7700-cu is a heavyweight to say the least. They say “bigger is better” and it seems to be the trend in CPU coolers today. Zalman, not wanting to miss the boat sent along the VF700-Alcu to have a look at as well. WOW! A double header in reviews. It must be baseball season. Zalman is famous for silent and aggressive cooling. I have always wanted to try a Zalman cooler now I get to try two of them. Well batter up, let's see if they can hit a homerun.

Zalman makes claim on the web site that the flower design aids in cooling those mosfets as well. With a 120mm fan blowing down on them I don't doubt it!
