STEP 3

Get your Dremel ready. I used the Dremel Multipro that has variable speeds. Follow all safety instructions provided. It is important to have many extra reinforced cut-off wheels; otherwise you’ll be making many trips to Home Depot. The reinforced cut-off wheels break and wear down tremendously. Approximately 15 Cut-off wheels were used for this window mod.

When cutting with the Multipro Dremel I used the highest speed setting (10). I cut very small areas at a time with the Dremel, maybe like 1 inch at a time. It is a slow process, but it is not difficult. Do not use pressure to cut with the Dremel. It cuts with its high speed. If you get impatient and use the Dremel with force, you can end up turning the reinforced cut-off wheels into small high-speed razor projectile objects.

 STEP 4
I do not cut thru the corners until the very last. Otherwise the metal buckles and pinches the cut-off wheel, making another razor projectile. Then I cut the edges very slowly holding the metal in place with a gloved hand. I use moral support for this part.

The small section below took approximately 45 minutes to cut.
