EL Mod Continued |
So out came the tools, and apart came the G-15.

| You
should refer to my G-15
Disassembly Guide here, but this mod only needs the topmost part
removed. Using your LITTLE flat screwdriver, spring the clips around
the outside of the rim: |

Very
carefully, lift the top edge up toward the LCD screen…this
is crucial and clearly the most delicate part of this keyboard.
Refer to that link above…take your little flat screwdriver
and lift each edge of that brown clip very slowly until the ribbon
can come out. That is the most complicated part of this Mod’s
disassembly.Once
you have the Keyboard open, pull out this plug:

So:

| Now
you can work on the cable without the whole keyboard. Set the keyboard
aside very carefully. We want everything to work when we put it back
together. Now get the USB EL cable. They come in 3 lovely colors (at
least in the shop I go to). The blue should be excellent for the stock
G-15 colors, the red is a good match for my BloodMoon mod, and the
Green should go nicely with Loch Ness or any Green mod.
